Hi,
When I try to download the Excel 2010 versions of the calendars, I only get a ZIP file which does not include the .xlsx format of the file. It simply has a collection of XML files, etc.
The 2003 link seems to be working as expected.
@Wayne... you can try to open the ZIP file directly in Excel. Sometimes windows mistakes XLSX files as ZIP files.
I have the same issue as Wayne - I tried opening directly from Excel as well - there is no Excel file - only XML files that contain the macro codes. The 2003 version opened without a problem, but I can't open the newer versions. Thanks for providing all these useful tools!
Hi Wayne,
I had the same problem. Download the file, then change the extension to '.xlsx'. That worked for me. Good luck mate.
Hi Chandoo,
Thanks for sharing this.
I extracted the files and saved on my computer and then tried opening the file from excel (like you mentioned). its not working for the excel 2010 version. 2003 link seems fine. There is no file with xlsx extention to open in excel. Can you please advice.
You know Chandoo you are trully and utterly the best!!!
I have a lot of these 'zip' files that opened in xml if I extract it, now thanks to your rename tip I can open it all
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I like this calendar template, but can think of an enhancement to the monthly version: instead of each day being one cell, structure it that each day is displayed in one column but (say) 6 rows, with no row lines and a small font size. The first row would hold the day of the month, left justified with with a row height appropriate for a large font size, and the remaining 5 lines would be smaller heights, left justified and blank to allow for entering 5 appointments or reminders. Another nice twist would be a set of macros to click on to change font color of a designated cell to allow indicating certain events. Say, blue for "vacation", red for dr's appts, green for business appts, etc.
Steve,
See my post below, with a link to a version I've played around with. While there is still a limit of one event per day, it follows your suggestion of having a row for the day number and another row for the details.
It's the week-starts-on-monday version, and I've made some other UK-centric changes, so it might not be suitable for you to use, but I think it's a good example of some of the possibilities...
Chandoo,
I really like your calendar design, but I couldn't resist making some changes. Take a look at this version and see what you think:
http://sdrv.ms/1lCPNBB
Aside from some personal preference changes (daily event type names and colours - I like them bright!), the things I've added are:
1. Monthly sheet shows the actual details of the daily events
2. Mini calendar has event days highlighted
3. Hyperlinks aplenty!...
Daily event icons link to each day on Monthly sheet
(placeholder icon for days with no events).
Icons on Mini calendar link to months on Monthly sheet.
Icon above each month on Monthly sheet links to Mini calendar.
Every day box on monthly calendar links to that day on Daily events.
I think this makes it much easier to navigate around the calendar and add events from whichever view you are in.
Would love to know what you think!
It seems the above SkyDrive link goes straight to their horrible Web Editor, which removes some functionality (even if you do a Save As to download it!).
Here's a link to a zipped version, which should hopefully bypass the nonsense and proceed straight to download...

Very impressive Rob.. thanks for the mod.
Hi Rob,
none of your links working. Probably it may be due to using corporate LAN for accessing this site. Can you please upload it somewhere else where I can bypass my IT team and get it downloaded.
Thanks,
Piyush
Hi Rob,
I took the liberty of uploading your file to my site servers so that people can download it easily.

I really love your calendar designs and download them every year. There is just one problem I face with them, whenever I go to print any of the template, the previous months dates are also displayed in shaded background in the print. Suggest a way to do away with it.
@Megha
Check that you have set calculation to manual
It should be on Automatic

Hi Chandoo
This is an amazing tool. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
How can I change the events (special )in the drop down boxes on the daily tab to suit my need or add extra.
I’m still learning excel and always looking forward in receiving your newsletters.
Regards
Frederick
Hi Chandoo
This calendar is excellent!
I have the same question as Frederick. I'd like to add some categories & change what is already there.
Thanks!
Melissa

sir chandoo,
your awesome. there is lot learn from you.
Chandoo,
One of the best things about last year was discovering your website! As an excel beginner, I learned more than I ever thought I could. I never fail to smile, or even laugh, when I visit your website or read one of your newsletters. You manage to make learning excel interesting and fun at the same time. Your optimism is quite contagious! Thank you so very much for all that you do.
Thank you for the interactive calendar!!!
Hi there,
i am trying to use one of the colour calendars that you've supplied but i can't work out how to set up the daily events to it. Also how do you clear the holidays/vacations you've used in the template? the data validation for the drop down doesn't have a 'blank' option or i'd just use the first one and clear everything to match Australia 🙂
this is amazing though,
many thanks
Robin
Thanks a lot Chando for this wonderful Calender in Excel. It will help me to manage my work effectively.
Thanks Again!

Hi.
I just came across this wonderful calendar. I always find it difficult to find out what week of the year it is on a particular day. Can someone help how to find it out easily in a calendar
Hi there,
here is Chandoo's calendar with customizable:
- starting day of the week (Sunday, Monday, ..., Saturday)
- abbreviation for days in your language
You can download the file here : http://dl.free.fr/tv7IzxSJm
Cheers
Chandoo I love your calendar...it is really making me look like an Excel hero!! I have a q....I entered the 2014 Easter public holiday dates (18/4 & 21/4) into 'Daily'. I then changed the year from '2014' to '2013', and then went back to 'Daily' to erase the 2014 Easter holiday dates and enter the 2013 Easter holiday dates (29/3 & 1/4). When I changed the year from 2013 to 2014 or 2012 etc on 'Full', the 2013 Easter holiday dates remained highlighted. I just wanted to check....if I want to be able to view a different set of highlighted events on the 'Full' worksheet whenever I change the year, is this possible or can I only save one set of annual events per template? Many thanks!

Hi Chandoo, Thanks for yet another very useful and educational calendar tutorial.
Question: Can the '2014 calendar daily planner template' be modified so it will show the next 12 months from a given starting date/month? (rolling 12-months) For Example, I need a calendar that shows the next 12 months starting in May 2014 and ending in April 2015. How can I do that with this 2014 calendar template?
