The podcast audio goes into 'slow motion' around the 17:15 mark. Not sure if it's just me, but I can understand everything until that time.

      Hi Evaun
I think Chandoo got Jabba The Hutt to give his favourite tip for the pod cast 😀

      • Carlitos Barboza says:

Oh come on Chandoo! It is not very understandable! Please could you write it down? Greetings from Carlos, Lima Peru!

    • Carlitos Barboza says:

hehe after listening 3 times, finally got it!

It is the multi-select trick with holding down CTRL keyboard and clicking or selecting with the mouse; ranges o indivual cells when you are on editing mode on a formula! I hope you can understand this short explanation. Please if not, let me know to better explain it!

Best to all, from Lima Peru!

Hi Chandoo, I'm late to this party but really enjoy your podcast. I'd like to leave one of my favorite tricks, kind of a strange one.

Sometimes when you import data into Excel you will get dates or numbers that are actually text strings. I see this a lot with dates in particular. If you try and do any lookups or sumifs on these "numbers" you will get an error since Excel thinks the numbers are words. An easy way to solve this is to add a helper column where you multiply the "numbers" by 1 and do your lookups or sumifs off this helper column. Multiplying by 1 gets excel to realize that what it thinks is a text string is really a number, I believe adding 0 would have the same effect. Cheers, stay awesome!

  3. Nancy L. Scheibel says:

I'm just starting out. Could you please make everything very easy for me to begin with?
I'll work really hard to get caught up.
    Thanks.
