As you may know, I am in USA and having a lot of fun exploring new areas, meeting people and conducting live classes. While all of this is enjoyable, I am also feeling guilty because I am unable to squeeze time to share Excel tips on the blog.
So to make it up to you, I recorded this short video (2 mins) with an Excel tip while bicycling in beautiful Euclid Creek Reservation in Cleveland on Friday. Watch it below.

Chandoo, if you come to Georgia, you are welcome to stay with us. We have mountains, Atlantic ocean shores, old historical cities (Savannah), and a great bike track in North Ga., not far from our house. We are about 20 minutes north west of Atlanta. The North Georgia Mountains offer 70 different mountain bike trails to choose from, some of which lead to some of North Georgia's 64 waterfalls. We have a nice upstairs we do not use with 3 bedrooms and a bath. Our house is open to you. I have been following you for yrs. and have been an excel star due to what you have taught me. Thanks, Paula

Hi Chandoo ,
Congrats on your achievements , I just wanted to know if you need any permissions to earn in US (or any foreign country ) like the way you are doing
I enjoyed your video and tip. Thanks for bringing us along!
I would have loved to have seen the other people in that park as they passed by chandoo.
Great tip Chandoo!
I recently found some other interesting shortcuts to format numbers really easily:
ctrl + shift + ! (number with 2 decimal points)
ctrl + shift + @ (time format)
ctrl + shift + # (date format)
ctrl + shift + $ (dollar/currency format)
ctrl + shift + % (percents format)
Don't know whether these are known around here... I found them very useful and I am using them all the time!
Video was really nice. Loved the tips as well. Thanks for putting up such content .
Many thanks for that tip Chandoo, I knew it worked on data but not on CHART components, thats brilliant and very quick.
I also like using Ctrl + T and return from inside a data range to quickly convert it to a data table in Excel 2007/2010 this is very nice.
I've been wanting to do a bike vid like this for quite some time. Last time I tried it though - on that same bike by the way! - I got way too much vibration noise from the road. How did you dampen that? 🙂
