  2. Hey Somjit.. thanks for visiting PHD and writing to me 🙂
how is campus doing ? where are you placed for summers?

    Coming to your question:

Electives: if you want to work in IT, most of the IT electives offered by iim indore are kind of redundant. Instead of taking them you could learn something else, something that you may not learn otherwise. That could include finance, ops, hr or marketing. Choose based on your interests. My suggestions would be a well mix of fin and marketing with few HR courses thrown in. Focusing on courses like banking, insurance, retail systems etc is certainly helpful.

Work Profile: most of the jobs have a fair bit of business analysis at the beginning. If you have prior experience you could get in to consulting directly. this changes from year to year and company to company. So talk to the seniors in each company and get to know about the work profiles. Keep in mind that you wont be advising CEO on day one. It starts small, but if you like it you will enjoy it. You can plan your career in an industry vertical or pure technology role.

chalo, let me know incase you need any more inputs.

  3. Hi Chandoo,

I have been offered a BA role in the Capital Markets Domain of TCS. I was just wondering if you can help in understanding what exactly is the role of a BA in TCS and also any inputs about the practice.

    Regards,
    Inder
