Hello .. Introduce yourself

Hi, I have just joined the Forum. Greetings from Australia. While I am the "go to guy" for all things Excel where I work, the more I read in sites like this, the more I realise how little I know! This is why I find this site incredibly helpful, and hopefully supportive through this forum.

Hi all,

Let me start by saying that stumbling into Chandoo.org has been the best thing that has happened to me of recent.
I bring you greetings from Nigeria. My background is Electrical and Electronic Engineering with bias in telecommunication but I am now a cost engineer and about rounding up my MBA in Robert Gordon University Aberdeen UK.

Two things caught my attention:
1. The founder of the site appeared to be very knowledgeable in excel
2. The founder is benevolent in sharing some of his knowledge – especially with starters like me.
I look forward to learning excel from this forum.

Hi

This is Ram and a newbie here on Chandoo. I am a data analyst working for an IT company here in UK and getting my feet wet with advanced excel. Hope I will learn few things on this forum and able to contribute by sharing my knowledge too.

Hi All,

I just want to express my gratitude and appreciation for every bit of MS-Excel info acquired and shared by this group. It really changed how I present my work and knowledge gained is immense.

Please continue doing what you do best!

Hey, just joined the awesome forum. From SA (South Africa), I love numbers and the functionality excel provides. Most things I figured out in excel through simple exploration & logic. I joined because I need a place to post questions related to excel

Hi, I'm John and I'm a lowly system engineer 1 where I work, but I'm one of the more creative Excel users, priding myself on finding unthought-of solutions to challenges I've posed to myself - converting Arabic numerals to Roman and vice versa (NOT using the built-in xl functions, except for verification purposes), making my data (numeric AND alphabetic) self-sorting for my reports, creating a subnet calculator, calculating 95th percentiles (again, not using the built-in PERCENTILE function), etc. I ran out of ideas and in looking for new challenges I found chandoo.org.

New to this board, experienced Excel user but not with VBA. I want to extend functionality to a HeatMap I created to display information from other cells on another sheet. I saw the mouseover examples and feel they should work, but when I follow the steps I get a #Name? rather than #Value? and the mouseover does not work. I am in Excel 2010, does this not work with 2010?

Thanks,

Geoff

Something along these lines (see attached pic)?
Notes:
- 2 charts shown because I wanted to show inbound and outbound circuit utilization separately
- vertical axis is hour of day (0-23), granularity is 15 minutes
- horizontal axis is day of the month (1-31), with additional row showing weekday (Su,Mo,Tu,We,Th,Fr,Sa) and
conditional formatting used to show weekend days.

Geoff, I'm new here too but I think questions like the one you posed are supposed to be in one of the forums.
