Tabulation and count

Hi everyone,

I have a sheet where I have rows containing staffid, Job grade and appraisal score.

I would like to analyse the tendency of the scoring by the different job grade.

To do this, first I would like to recompile the table so I have the no of people by Job Grade who have been graded - Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Fair and Poor.

Is there an efficient way to go about doing this.

What if I use simple count. How do I use the countif function to pick the two criteria, by Job Grade and Appraisal Score.

Thanks in advance!

Why not select your data area and Insert a Pivot Table/Pivot Chart

This will enable you to visually drag fields around and do exactly what your suggesting

Dear Hui

Hi Serene,

I know you have posted on some other thread as well regarding this question, if you could upload a sample file, hopefully it get resolved with pivot.
