Summary between start and end date

I have one sheet in which i enter manually all expenses daily basis. now in another sheet i want all summary from selected date. In manual entry sheet


Date | Flat Block No.| Type | Description | Debit Amt | Credit Amt |Balance


18-11-13 | A | banking | Cheque Deposit | 0.00 | 5000.00 | 5000.00




Now in second summary sheet,


When i Select below mentioned fields then i get only same summary.


Flat Block No.
Type
Start Date
End Date


After select above fields i get summary in below mentioned header


Date | Flat Block No. | Type | Description | Debit | Credit | Balance

I find your request a bit unclear. But please check attached file. Maybe a PivotTable is what you are looking for.

Thanks Xiq for your support. but i don't want pivot table. is want in summary sheet when i enter "flat No" - "Type" - "Start Date" - "End Date" then in below i get all data which are available in "Daily entry" sheet and as per mentioned date in summary sheet. Hope u got my point?

Hi gaurav das,

I think I get your point, but do you get mine? With the PivotTable you can use the slicers to easily filter the information you want. Check the attached file and try it out.

thanks Xiq. i learn something new. now one more help i need. i want when i enter one date i got data form the beginning till that date which i mention. Actually my boss requirement is change now. in this same file he want that when he enter Flat no >> Type >> and date, in below data show from the beginning to till that date.

You can use the Slicers as Xiq discussed
Select the First date, then Hold Shift and select second date, release Shift
and the table will update
Excel 2013 allows for a Date slicer which allows the user to change the either end s of a slider and change the dates
 
I do agree with u Mr Hui. But i want to set one formula in which as per selected date and other 2 option, i want summary from the beginning to select date in cell. can u able to help me out for that formula? please help me for that formula if u can.

Hi gaurav das,

Just so you understand why, I don't think it's practical without the use of a PivotTable. The way you suggest would need a table with a fixed number of rows filled with formula's.

So here is my idea. Please check the attached file and play with the slicer next to the "Start Date Filter" date.
