MS Office 2013 - Home & Student vs. MS Office Home & Business version?

  • Office Home & Student (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Office Home & Business (adds Outlook)
Then there is Professional and Professional Plus
  • Professional - Adds Publisher and Access
  • Professional Plus - Adds full office suite and only 2013 version with PowerPivot (except for stand alone Excel)

Different versions of Office have different applications included in the bundles
But the applications are all consistent
Excel & Word are the same in all versions

So if you only want Word and Excel buy the cheapest package that you need
Some applications are also sold as stand alone eg: Excel, Project

We really only need Excel 2013, but don't want to lose any features by getting a watered-down version. So apparently Excel "standalone" or Office Professional Plus are the way to go to not miss out on any Excel goodies.
