Logic with Dates

I have numerous rows in a document that contain dates. Is it possible to create a conditional function to choose the lowest (first) date. For example A2 = 01/01/2012; A3 = 01/02/2012; A4 = 12/31/2011; A5 = 02/01/2012 then A1 would = A4 since it is the earliest date?

If this is possible, how do I write it?

Thank you...

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

In A1 put

=Min(A2:A5)

If I understand you correctly, you want every cell in that range to be equal the minimum in that range.

You can write in colum B: =min($A$1:$A$5)

Let me know if this meets your needs
