Dear all,

I have a model very complicated and long for a 4 year budget and I am planning to hide the past data by grouping the data, however I wanted to make a note for the following users, showing them off the data that I will hide by creating a label on the top of the excel sheet (not exactly on the sheet but on the line of the rows and column) numbers and I was wondering if that is possible in excel?

Regards

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

There are a number of ways to add comments to a worksheet
You can add them via:
1. Cell Comments, Right click on a cell and Insert Comment
2. Add a field to your data, eg: a Column where comments are stored
3. Add shapes to file where comments can be stored

Dear Hui,

Thanks for the reply. I have added cell comments, however I am not happy with the way it looks. I would like to create a more interactive way that people would see the comments/labels as they open the file (like an header I guess).

I didn't understand your third option of adding the shapes?

Thanks
