Formula for converting word to number or vise versa.

Is their any formula which shall convert words to number or number to words. for example July 5, 2012 to 05/07/2012 or Rs. 112265.00 to Rupees One Lac Twelve Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Five.Look forward to am early reply as always.

Dates

Dates are stored in Excel as Numbers

So if a cell has Jul 5, 2012 to convert it to 05/07/2012 select the cell

Ctrl 1 or Right Click Format Cells

Select the Number Tab

Select Custom and in the Type box enter dd/mm/yyyy

The following code can help you in converting amount in words. I got it from somewhere i dont remember.


to use it do the following:

1. Press Alt+ F11

2. Go to Insert > Module

3. Copy Paste the code in the window
