Fancy graph with numbers rather than bars ...

Hi Chandoo,

I am curious if it would be possible to create a chart that would display a picture, symbols, or numbers instead of the numbers? I was trying to figure a way to display numbers rather than the usual bars on a graph as is shown on the following site: http://www.nobosti.com/spip.php?article28


The graph is titled “ANALISIS DEL PRIMER DIGITO”


If you have any suggestions I will greatly appreciate it.

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums


You can achieve your chart fairly simply using Excel


Save the Numbers 1 to 9 as PNG, JPG or BMP files

Possibly just make the numbers in Word or Excel and do a screen shot of the screen and Crop it so the numbers are the only thing showing.

Or use Paint.Net, CorelDraw or Adobe etc


In Excel construct a chart using a Column Chart

Select the series and then select each Column so it is the only object selected

Right click on the Column, Format Data Point

Fill

Picture or Texture Fill

Insert from file: Select your file

Select Stretch

Apply
