I am a proficient Excel user. I even teach Excel classes. I have a very large Excel template I am using at my company that many people use and in the process of creating a new version a phantom link appeared. I call it a phantom link because I did not copy data from anywhere into this file. None the less I went through all the steps of looking for a link to the file; range names, data validation ranges, etc. The break link option does not work. It will correctly update the status for the link. The problem is since this isn't a real link and this is a large file the calculation time has increased x10. I have to get rid of the link. Any suggestions? I see there are a few utility tools for removing links but I'm afraid they won't work since there aren't any real links in the file. Thanks in advance!
