Hello Chandoo.org Forum Readers
Over the past few days there have been several posts where people haven't given sufficient data, have asked common questions like, "How can I post a file?" or have been, what I would call, "Rude".
It is important to note that the assistance given at Chandoo.org Forums is FREE and supplied by totally voluntary labor. The Volunteers, including me, get no rewards or returns of any sort for lending our assistance to you.
I encourage new and old forum readers to please note the 3 colored Posts at the top of the main Chandoo.org Forums page: http://chandoo.org/forums/
The 3 Green Sticky Posts are:
Hello Introduce Yourself: This is optional but join the community
Posting a Sample Workbook: This is raised about 5 times a day, yet is clearly in front of you at all times
Posting Rules & Etiquette [read before posting]: This post has heaps of good info, Please Read ! ! !
The best way to get a prompt response is as follows:
1. Name your post appropriately
eg: "Sumproduct Formula not working" is much better than "IMPORTANT PLEASE HELP"
This is important as a Person who is unfamiliar with say SQL won't waste there time reading the post to determine that they can't help you.
2. Supply as much info as possible including what your trying to achieve and what error messages or wrong answers you may be getting. Include data like: Cell references, Formulas, and Upload a File if possible using the instructions at: http://chandoo.org/forums/topic/posting-a-sample-workbook
3. Don't hassle us, Although your problem may be important to you, the Volunteers here may all be busy on their day jobs or answering other posts or even sleeping as I was last night and hence didn't get back to a post I had answered. If you can't wait for FREE assistance I'd suggest you find a local Excel Consultant and pay them to get your solution?
I am sure that your compliance with the above simple rules will ensure that your posts are given the swift and appropriate attention.
Happy Posting
