Welcome to the forum, hoomantt!

To use barcodes in Excel, you need to install a barcode font. There are slight variatians in different bar code fonts, but you can generally find a free download by doing a google search for "Barcode font".

http://www.google.com/search?q=barcode+fonts

Once you have the font installed on your computer, you can then use it in Excel. Then, a easy way to create the barcodes is to have one cell contain the human-readable text, and another cell (with the barcode font) have a formula link to the previous cell.

can ypu help me?

1. Do an internet search for "pharmacode barcode font", choose the one you want

2. Install font in the font folder on your computer.

3. In Excel, change the font of a cell to the barcode

Hello Hoomantt

I have found that most barcode scanners will work with a format called Code 39 - there are many free websites offering this as a font that can be installed on any PC.

Once installed you type the text you want into a cell and change the font to this new one (Often called "Free 3 of 9")

It's easiest if you have two cells, one in a human readable format, the second in barcode format.

Barcodes often have a start and end character that the scanner reads to know how to process the information. With the Code 39 system this character is *

A typical barcode would then be *Hoomantt* as the human readable

I usually do this:

Cell A1 contains the human readable form and in cell A2 I put

="*"&A1&"*" which I then format to Free 3 of 9 font

Hope that makes sense

Keep safe

Hi, Hoomantt!
If I were you I'd start with Code 39 or Code 128, not with Pharmacode unless you'd specifically work with those type of products.

Hi!

Here you asked if it was for free:
http://chandoo.org/forum/threads/how-to-create-code-128-in-excel.5052/#post-90269
but here you posted one that's not for free:
unless you accept a watermark that is supposed to invalidate the code usage as it says here:
http://www.keepautomation.com/guide/excel_barcode_addin.html
"Evaluation Restriction
This barcode generator for Excel evaluation/trial version can only be used for demo or testing purposes for the reason that a "KA Barcode" watermark exists on generated barcode images."
Am I wrong?

Regards!
