Date Format conversion

Dear Experts,
I want to convert 02-09-2013 format of date in MM-YY form, so that in pivot table I can categorised in monthly summary data,
Basiclay entry is with time stamp and require result in monthly summary,
Please suggest if any other method as well if there for the same,

Have a look at the following. Pivot tables can be grouped by month as it is an inherent feature of pivot tables. This link on Chandoo describes it better than I can.
