Follow these instructions


1. Add a new Chart, Don't Select any data, Goto the Insert tab and Select a Stacked Chart

2. Right Click on the Chart, Select Data

3. Add the 3 series one at a time, I4:I6, J4:J6 and K4:K6

4. Select the Grand Total Series, Right Click, Format Data Series, Plot Series on secondary Axis

5. Change the Series Overlap and Gap Width to suit

6. Format to suit


By having the data area of the Pivot table selected when you Insert chart, excel inserts a Pivot Chart, not a regular Chart.

I have tried as you said but it is not working.


1. Am not able to select series separately with comma(,)

2. Once after selecting a data range then that field itself is getting disabled and no chance of any selecting one more column/'s.


Please help me. I don't think this is because of slicers in powerpivot.

You have to add each series seperately

Not using I4:I6, J4:J6 and K4:K6

But add I4:I6

then add J4:J6

then add K4:K6

Am able to see total series now. But when am selecting manager in the slicer then the chart is not align to changing no.of rows & colums. Is there any way that we can see to that chart is aligned to pivot table while selection is made in slicer.

Hi Hui,


Otherwise is it possible to show just total on the top of each bar in stacked column chart instead of showing 3rd series separately. Which means i will give data range as i have shown in the sample but in that we don't have total or sum of permanent & temporary on the top. Is there a way where we can get "sum of" on the top of each bar in stacked column chart.

When i tried with each series separately (as suggested above)then there is a problem that if am selecting items in the slicer (powerpivot) then the chart is not getting alined to no.of rows & columns. All this week i have gone through lot of material in online but could not come across this option. Do you have any option handy please help - Its very urgent.
