Chart series reference is lost when my colleague opens workbook on their PC

Hope all are well

I have been putting together metric dashboards, a simple data entry with dynamic charts to view results. I have used the offset function with named ranges.

The problem occurs when some of my colleagues open the file on their PCs. The workbook name in the series reference has been replaced by [0]!. This happens with some colleagues but not others, so it must be something to do with the pc settings. All of us are using excel 2007.

I am sure it is something simple but have not found any solution. I have checked add ins to make sure all are the same, all ok.

For completeness, I have included a link to one of the workbooks. (I have several workbooks looking at different key metrics. )

many thanks in advance

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org forums

The chart is linked to a series: 'Lost Time.xlsx'!LostTimeWeekly

Is the file called Lost Time.xlsx ?

If not is the file on a network drive that they can have access to?

thank you for your welcome and for your prompt reply.

(Apologies for not getting back to you sooner. This is my 3rd time to attempt a reply, for some reason my earlier replies did not send when I hit send post)

You are correct, the workbook name is Lost Time.xlsx

It is stored on a network drive but one that has general access. They can open the file but when they change the date ranges etc nothing happens. When I checked the series reference I noticed the file name had been replaced by[0]!

Note: this problem is with some colleagues PCs but not others. Of course, one of those is my boss, typical...

many thanks

Cormac
