Writing PLC tag data to Excel

New Member
I need to write tag data from a PLC to an Excel spreadsheet evrey five minutes. I am very new to Excel and do not know where to start. Any ideas?

Interfacing a PLC to Excel involves what is called Dynamic Data Exchange ( DDE ) or OPC ; the concerned PLC will have to initiate the data transfer , and the necessary documentation will be available for the PLC.


For example , if you use an Allen-Bradley ( Rockwell ) PLC , the concerned software would be RSLinx.
