Dears,

I’m searching for tool or Excel VBA Macro to do Workbook Parameters compare based on below criteria:

- Each workbook (old & new) has several sheets with unique names “Sheet_1 to be compared with sheet_1, etc”

- Comparison will be based on common factor (which exist in each sheet in Column called Area Name) however this column index is not fixed per sheet_number “For example in sheet_1 for both workbooks it’s in 2nd. Column for sheet_2 it’s in 3rd. column”

- Hereby, compare to be for cells right to column Area Name

- Items under Area Name not exactly sorted for both workbook (so tool should not compare row1 with row1)

- Output could be as in below links

- Please note that number of sheets is not only 2, it could be more/ same for rows

Thanks in advance for your support

Hi,

I am not able to get to the file you posted (due to firewall restrictions on my end).

But, here is a low tech version to compare two worksheets, if you are doing this as a one-time activity:

Align the columns in the worksheets you are planning to compare. Perform any sorting.

Copy each worksheet to be compared to a separate Microsoft Word document.

Then use Word's compare feature. It produces a nice view showing the differences between the two files.

This would work if you are attempting to do a quick comparison between a few different worksheets.

Cheers,

Sajan.

Thanks sthomas,

It's not one time task and output must be accurate as it will be used for business

Just tell me which free hosting sites you access and I could re-upload my data

or send me your email ID

Thanks

Hi ,

Two points :

1. 4shared is a website which requires anyone to register and login to download an uploaded file ; please shift to 2shared ( http://www.2shared.com/ ) which is free , so that downloading a file does not require an account ( even though this may be free ).

2. There are any number of worksheet comparison software available ( one of them is at http://www.florencesoft.com/excel-differences-download.html , a 30-day free trial being available ) ; but your specific conditions regarding data being in two different rows / columns in the two worksheets may mean that your solution will have to be a tailor-made one.
