Vlookup Formula to find exact word

Hi All,

Could you please help me. I have one master file where I am getting IN TIME of employees from another excel sheet (say name DATA) data which comes from daily workers card punching machine. Now for ex. EM1001 shows "EM1001_ _ _" came at 6:45" in DATA file. When i use VLOOKUP formula I will take EM1001 only but actually in DATA file it is "EM1001_ _ _" or may be "EM1001_" only. Now how to get exact text EM1001 from data file by using VLOOKUP formula?

Try this.


=VLOOKUP("EM1001*",A1:D10,2,0)


Adjust the range as per requirement.
