Hi all

I wanted some help on a possible if and v look up formula.

In the attached worksheet i have a table which has period start date, period end date and number of days from b3 to b6. In cell c13 i want it to return the number of days based on start date in c12 from the table above.

What formulae do i use.

Hi Raj,

What will be end date for the calculation?

Say you want it for one month or from starting day till end of the table?

Regards,

Dear Somendra

I think at this stage i just want it to look at the start date and return the number of days from that start date based on the table. I suppose this formula will take all the dates upto the end of the table.

So say if the period starts in April2015 it than continues all the way up to the end.

I have attached a revised spreadsheet mr genius :)

Well I did not understood your requirement as both files are different. But see the attached file. Orange cells have formula. Is this what you want?

Dear Somendra

Thanking you once again for your help. That is exactly what i needed.

I actually thought that we would require a vlook up and if formulae.

You really are a clever person and i cannot find the right words to thank you.

Are you able to share with me your email address incase i have an urgent query. I wont disturb you all the time but just in case.

Thank you once again

Raj

sorry to bother you again

@rajkenya1

The formula are array formulas, which must be entered with Ctrl+Shift+Enter and not just enter. Excel put {} around formula, which are visible in formula bar only in non-edit mode, just to confirm that you had asked excel to perform an array operation in some formula, which in normal condition excel would not have done & the formula is executed successfully.
