VBA Error: Error accessing the system registry

I was recently upgraded to a new computer with windows 7.


I tried to run a macro in a spreadsheet (excel 2010) that is not very complicated and has worked fine and dandy for quite a while. I received "Compile error: Can't find project or library."


I went to "References" in the "Tools" menu to update and then received this: "Error accessing the system registry."


Does anyone know how to correct this?
 
Could it be because of crystal reports? This is the first hit on google when I search for that error:
