using sumif to calculate a value from multiple sources

i need to calculate the sum of certain values from a sheet which i am using a sumif to calculate from a specific date the formula that i am using is =SUMIF(washing!$A$2:$A$14,'weekly summary'!C2,washing!$D$2:$D$14).

this works fine for calculating but i would also like to calculate from a date and a specific reference number.

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums


To do multiple criteria I'd suggest having a look at either Sumifs or Sumproduct

ps: Sumifs is only available in Excel 2007+, Sumproduct works in all versions
