how do I increase the sheet number, but keep the same cell reference in a formula.
I have 600 worksheets in different files. I need to get from each sheet data from cell b6 and h6 on a single sheet one below the other. I have tried ='sheet'!$b$6 but how to increase the sheet number.

Did you adapt or adjust the formula to suit your data/setup?. If you upload a file you will get the exact formula

Have a look at the uploaded file, you will see that I have used an extra column A for the sheet names.

cheers
