uneven sizes of cells

I have such a data that requires cells with different size in height and width. is that possible to resize each column to facilitate my necessity .

like size of A1 = 5cm while size of A2 = 10 mm
height of A3= 10 mm and size of B1 = 15 cm

plz all help

You can't set width or height in mm or cm in default Excel.

You can however, use VBA to set this. See link below and follow steps.

Hi ,

Another clarification ; you cannot set the dimensions of individual cells ; if you set the height of A1 , you are setting the height of row 1. If you set the width of A1 , you are setting the width of column A.

Thus , when you say the size of A1 = 5 cm. while the size of A2 = 10 mm. , these sizes can only refer to their heights and not their widths.

Similarly , when you say the size of B1 = 15 cm. , this size can only refer to the width and not the height , since the height of B1 will be identical to the height of A1.

You can also use Text Boxes which can be linked to cells
The text boxes can then be sized individually and have there own Fonts/Colors etc and are independent of the Rows/Columns below them

Goto Insert, Shape
Select a Shape
Click or Drag the shape on the worksheet to resize it as required

With the shape selected click on the Formula Bar
Type in a link to a cell reference
eg:
