Trying to have day of month sheets under Month of year sheets????

I use excel as a binder fro my tasks. Is it possible to put sheets of Days of the month (1 thru 28-31) under a month sheet or tab?

What I am hoping for is a workbook that has tabs/sets of worksheets) at the bottom of months, Jan - Dec. When you select one of these months it opens a set of worksheets for the days of the month.

Is this even possible in Excel?

Thanks oldchippy, that is one option.

I would really (for simplicity on mobile phone) like to just use spreadsheets

I am wanting the 12 & 365.

Is there is a way to have multiple workbooks in a single "master" workbook? That would work.

Master workbook - the year
in the master - workbooks for each month
in the workbooks for each month - worksheets for each day of the month (1 thru 28, 30, or 31 days)

This way I can move information, tasks, and contacts from today - January 18th to a sheet for, say February 3rd, or November 29th.

Hi ,

What you want can be done with the help of VBA.

We can have 12 + 365 worksheets in the workbook , the 12 worksheets will be named Jan, Feb, etc. and the 365 worksheets can be named using the MMDD format e.g. 0117 for the worksheet dated January 17.

Whenever you open the workbook , you will see only the 12 months' worksheets. When you click on any month, the 28-31 worksheets for that month will become visible. Whenever you change from one month to another, the previous month's worksheets will get hidden and the new month's worksheets will become visible.

Is this okay ?

Hi, Pastordoc!
Just a thought, but why don't you use Outlook or any other agenda/calendar software?
Regards!

SirJB7,

The amount of data is extensive that I can cut & paste in columns with Excel. In Outlook and others it takes a while to type it all in. all my data is in excel as well.

Thanks.

That works great, Narayan. You da' man (I assume!) :)

Thanks a lot!

The only thing I would add to it is when you select the month a second time it collapses the days, but it works great as is! :)

Hi ,

Can you check the file now ?

When you expand a month , say June , after you have activated even one daily sheet of that month , if you again click on June , the days will be collapsed.

That's cool! Great job.

Another stupid question - when I try to save this to my dropbox and access it from my cell phone it doesn't load the macros. Is this just an iPhone thing or am I doing something wrong?

I don't want to give you anymore work - you've been great - Just wondering if I need to save it a certain way or what.

Thanks again!

Hi ,

Sorry but I have no idea ; in case I find anything on the Internet ( since this interests me too ) , I'll post back.

Hi, Pastordoc!
When you upload to your DropBox or any other cloud storage server the files (workbooks .xlsm or any other extesions, from Excel or not) are uploaded as they are, on a bit by bit basis, i.e., exactly as the original.
At least for Android but I assume that it's the same for iOS, when you download an .xlsm from Dropbox it's also downloaded as it was uploaded, but the problem arises with you try to open it with sotware running in your cell phone. I use Polaris Office Suite 4.0, I used a while ago King Office 5.12, and always happened the same: they don't even notice that the file has macros. I think we'll have to wait until MS releases Office for Android and then see if "everything" works fine or they cropped main and useful features, as I suppose it'll happen. I'm not saying they won't support macros but...

Hi, Pastordoc!
And buy the non-free version(s) that MS will release. Would they cost the same as the desktiop? However I won't pay more that 30-50 U$S for an cell phone Office version, no way. What should I use it for? Better go to the notebook or tablet.
Regards!
