Trouble in typing text in a cell

Dear Mr.Chandoo,

I have sent a email attached an excel sheet where I have typed some text in cell B9 (highlighted in yellow) and after completion, all text turns like ‘########...’. If you do double click then only it appears.

I don’t know why it happens…. Please help me and also tell me why it happened.

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org forums.


It looks like the column isn't wide enough to show the number


can you make the column wider by dragging the right edge of the column header to the right or just double click the same edge

Wow, I never knew that trick.. if Font is not-available.. just double Click the cell (Edit Mode) and it will display.. the String..

I know both we do actually appreciate and valuate Carlsberg first class commodity as it deserves and as almost no-one is able to do, so for me your opinion about the subject is strongly and highly considerated. But in this case I'll give one of my stock to Debraj Roy, as a recompense for the efforts made for deliberately obfuscating stuff withing Excel files, without full succeed yet but getting closer.
