Trend chart with multiple series

Hi All,

I am trying to build a chart to show the monthly sales trend at territory level and national lavel across three different segments.Let me explain it further to you:

1) Chart will show the trend from July to December for the segments S1, S2 and S3 for both territory and national level

2)Each series will have two data points, one for the territory and another for the national level

My question is: If I construct line chart, too many lines will be coming up and chart will become very cluttered. I can use the checkboxes to give the user the flexibility to on / off the series they want to see. But what would be the best way to show both the territory level and national level sales across the month that would give the ultimate clarity and visibility of the chart?

Here is the sample workbook

Looking forward to your responses.

Excellent look and feel...great work done..

In continuation with Narayan's post here:
Hi Kaushik ,
You need to decide what you wish to present :
1. Will it be meaningful to compare trends in the different segments i.e. will it make sense to compare a July-December trend in the S1 segment with a similar July-December trend in the S2 segment ?
2. Will it be meaningful to compare July-December trends in any one segment at the national level and the territory level ?
In the first case , you can have two drop-downs to select the two segments for comparison i.e. do you want S1 vs. S2 , or S1 vs. S3 , or S2 vs. S3 ?
In the second case , you can have 3 radio buttons to select which of the segments you want to display at both the territory level and the national level.

Hi Narayan,
Good to hear from you friend.
My apologies, as I did not explain things clearly.
Please understand I have a dropdown with 30 territories and A1 is the linked cell of that dropdown. Ideally, value of A1 will be changed as I change the dropdown list, so the chart.
Initially, I thought of using radio button (please see the chart with radio button) but that would not give user the flexibilty to see the territory level and national value across all three segments (S1,S2 and S3) for a single territory.
Actually, I want to show both national and territory level value for a single territory across all three segments together at a time. If I use check boxes instead of radio buttons, I could achieve that but but in that case too many lines will come together and the chart may loose it's clarity (according to me). (Please see the chart with check box option which is actually meeting my requirement but it looks very cluttered to me. I am sure there could be some other better way to do it...please advise)

According to my requirement, if you could build something that would give more clarity to the chart, that would be great.
