to remove certain words from a string of words

Can you please help me creating formula in segregating string of words.

Hi Hui,

Thanks for the reply. I have a quick question though, what if the details after the names would not be the same or would not have a common word/s and still, i just need to have that only their names appear?
I have tried combining LEFT, RIGHT AND LEN functions but still I could not be able to achieve it. The different character length after the names are giving me hard time.

i.e:
Ronaldo Alvarez - kropeck
Hui - staff member
bosco_yip - singapore
narayank991 - excel ninja

In the case you described you can use the "-" character as a delimiter
=left(a2,find(" - ",a2))

A bit adjusted to Hui's formula in order to remove the last space :

=LEFT(A2,FIND(" - ",A2)-1)
