Tiered Bonus and Gross Margin table HELP!

Hi All,

What is the best way to show gross profit margin and bonuses on a chart that can be updated monthly? I was thinking a pivot table.

I was asked to create a table which shows my company's total monthly gross profit margin made by each employee. Then if an employee reaches an amount of gross profit margin for the company, they are eligible for the tiered bonus.

Specifically, we are eligible for bonus once we reach a gross margin of 25,000 for the month and that would earn us $250 bonus. If our gross margin was more than 25,000 than we earn 1% of all gross margins. This needs to be broken down by employee. Please help with any suggestions on how to communicate this in an Excel chart.

Thanks!

Hi tua07847,

Welcome to the chandoo's forums!!!

I think you should create two separate chart, one for showing the break-even of 25000 and the other one to show whether an employee has reached the break even status or not.

I would like to plot this chart, if you like this idea just tell me through a reply on this forum.

Hi ,

Do you think the following can help ?

You will have to download the file and open it in Excel.

A more sophisticated option is the tornado chart , explained here :
