Tidying up Scatter Plot Data Labels - Multiple Labels for one data point

Hello

I have a scatter plot that I prepare monthly, comparing our supplier performance across two variables, both in percentages - a quick way of identifying our poorest performing suppliers.

The trouble is it can get quite messy in that there can be approx 200 suppliers on this chart each month. Furthermore, often there will be multiple suppliers sharing one data point (i.e. 8 vendors with x = 40% , y = 0%). The issue is that the labels stack on top of each other, and often overlap neighbouring points, and so the chart becomes difficult to read.

Can anyone suggest a quick n easy method for being able to tidy the chart up, on a monthly basis? Ideally I still want to show all data labels (I use supplier name, some of which can be quite long). For instance one random idea, is there a way to automatically create a text bubble out to the side, with all vendor labels relating to a particular point, for those points which are particularly clustered?

I know that one compromising alternative is to simply only show the very worst offending suppliers, and this would clear some of the clutter. But not ideal as the report user will then have to refer to a separate lookup list if they want to see the less bad but still bad performing suppliers.

i hope that makes sense!

Setup up your chart as normal

add an extra series and make it a dynamic series

Only apply labels to that series, so that you can move through the data using a control
