Text selection in non consecutive, multiple rows based on cell color

I have an excel worksheet populated with a list of headings and subheadings under them arranged in consecutive rows. The headings are colored green and the sub headings under them red.

I am looking for a method to extract the main headings alone and arrange them consecutively in an other worksheet. Is this possible?

Worksheet 1

===========

Heading 1

sub heading1

subheading2

Heading 2

sub heading1

subheading2

subheading3

This is what I need

Workseet 2

=========

Heading 1

Heading 2

Hi Shrikanth ,

How do you distinguish the headings , only by their color ? If so , then only VBA can help ; is this acceptable to you ?

Hi Narayan,

started doing it manually.

But to answer your question, I can afford to dedicate another column that states the row type. Ie. Column to state if the row is a heading or otherwise.

Hi, Shrikanth!

I'd recommend you to read the three first green sticky topics at this forums main page. There you'll find general guidelines about how this site and community operates (introducing yourself, posting files, netiquette rules, and so on).

Among them you're prompted to perform searches within this site before posting, because maybe your question had been answered yet.

Feel free to play with different keywords so as to be led thru a wide variety of articles and posts, and if you don't find anything that solves your problem or guides you towards a solution, well, come back here, tell us what you've done, consider uploading a sample file as recommended, and somebody surely will read your post and help you.

If you'd have done so, you should have found many articles form which I choose this as a starting guide:

And about your question...

If you can afford spending another column why not another two plus? So, no VBA code. Give a look at this file:
