Text in a formula cell

Please refer to the attached file.

In the E column I have written a simple IF formula for two text entries in D column (D12 and 13) and have entered in D14 as an example of what happens with a new entry..

I am wondering if there is a formula that will do the same thing as my IF formula for ANY text put into D column.

according to what i understand you can put this formula =IF(ISTEXT(D6),0,D6*$E$5)
in "E6" and drag down

Hi Jamie,

SUM ignores text values, so you can also use like:

=SUM(D9)*$E$5
