Text disappears from Graph (2007)

I have a sheet with several graphs which I can view in Print Preview. When I print the graphs, all the text disappears! I have no text in the title, the axes, or the legend. The legend and graph show triangles and squares for data points on the Print Preview version but in the actual print version, the triangles and squares appear only in the legend, not on the graph. Changing computers and printers makes no difference.

Hi, Cybermama!

Check the third of four green sticky posts at this forums main page.

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

It sounds like the font size as being displayed is too small to render

Some programs, mostly CAD/Drawing, turn off font displays when the displayed font is below a certain value

I am not aware of Excel doing that, but hey ?

Have a look at the File, Options, Advanced Menu

Scroll down to Print

and enable High Quality Mode for Graphics

Alternatively, increase the font size of the charts and retry

Please let us know how you go?

Actually I found the solution and fixed the problem. It's an Excel update from 12/13, KB2596596. If you remove this update, the charts print exactly as they should--and as they did at the beginning of December.

Mystery solved. Case closed.

Found another solution from MRExcel.com

When formatting the chart area and plot area select 'No Fill' rather than automatic.

Worked perfectly.
