SUM formula not working

I had converted the Pivot Table data to normal range & then tried to apply the sum formula on the amount column. But the output returned is 0 (zero). I tried everything like, I converted text to General etc but still my formula is not working.So can anyone help me on this issue

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums


Using a Custom Format from Text to General or a number does not change the values, it only changes how they are displayed.


To convert possible text to a number, do the following

Type the value 1 into a blank cell

Copy the cell, Ctrl V

Select the cells with the Text/Values

Right Click, Paste Special

Select Values, Multiply

then Apply


Try your formula now
