Sub-Total Formula

Please help.

I need a formula in Column D which will provide the Subtotal of Column C depending upon change in Column A and B. Expected formula result is given in Column D.

While you guide me with your formula/procedure, kindly consider that the worksheet is already very large and will grow day by day.

Hi Swastik ,


I assume you mean the subtotal should appear when there is a change in either the date or the Person Paid To , columns A or B.


Use the following formula in cell E3 , copying it down as far as your data.


=IF(OR(B3<>B4,C3<>C4),SUM($D$3:D3)-SUM($E$2:E2),"")
