Strange sorting question

Hello everyone,

I just discovered this site- what a wonderful place!

I have a database with over 10,000 text entries and I was hoping to come up with a way to sort them. Here is what I am trying to do: If a cell contains a certain expression, I want to be able to send it to a certain tab. For example, I want to write an "if-then" that basically says "if a cell contains 'apple', send to the 'foods' tab". Is this even possible in Excel?

Thank you all so much.

Hi Hui,

My apologies for the extremely late response. Thank you so much for your help! I look forward to learning a lot more through this site.
