Showing Wingdings font in data validation dropdown lists

Hello,

I want to achieve what Chandoo did in the following post

http://chandoo.org/wp/2009/06/16/gantt-charts-project-management/

The status dropdown is filled with symbol.

I've made a validation list refering to cells A1:A6, formatted with "wingdings" font, but all I see is the "normal text" counter part. Is there anyway to bypass this ?

Regards

@Cyrilz... the symbols are from normal font itself. Select Insert > Symbol. choose normal font (or select Arial or Calibri). Now, use the subset drop down to select arrows, symbols etc. and choose the symbol you want. This should work.

the results are kind of ready. I am just waiting for excel school registrations to be over before announcing the results..

Have a read of this post at Contextures Blog

It will do everything you want plus allow you to change the Font Size, Color and much more

Thanks a lots for this link, but If I can avoid them (macros and forms) I do... since my users won't activate macros if they saw a popup ( kinda paranoids ) !
