set the formula for port demurrage, I need it so badly.

I want to make a sheet for my import costing where I have to figure out the port & shipping line demurrage.

First of all there are two type of charges from different authorities Shipping line & port
shipping line charges in different spreads for different type of containers

for example: against a 20' container for extra 4 days they will charge 4days*$6=$24, but when it will become 18 days, they will charge
(for the first week 7days*$6=$42)+(for the second week7days*$9=$63)+(for the last 4days from the third
week*12=$48)=Total $153

after exceeding three week 21days $18 will be added for every additional day.this amount will change with the size of the container .
Day Range currency 20' 40' 40'HQ 45'HQ
First 7 days USD 6 12 12 12
8-14 days USD 9 18 18 18
15-21 days USD 12 24 24 24
There after USD 18 36 36 36


Now regarding port authority
They charges in following manner
Day Range currency 20' 40' 40'HQ 45'HQ
First 7 days USD 6 12 12 18
8-20 days USD 12 24 24 36
There after USD 24 48 48 72

for example:
Against a 20' container for the first 4days they will charge 4days*$6=$24
Again, for 18 days the charges will be calculated as follows
for the first week 7days*$6=$42)+(for the next 11days*$12=$132)

Total $174
and when it will exceed 20days range they will charge $24 for every subsequent day like as follows
against 25 days
7days*$6=$42
13days*$12=$156
5days*$24=$120
================
Total $318
again this amount will change with the size of the container.

Hi ,

Your rate table is not complete , nor does it match what you have posted here.

The container types mentioned in the workbook are :

20 , 40 , 40H , 45H , LCL

whereas what you have posted here are :

20 , 40 , 40HQ , 45HQ

Can you clarify ?

Hi !! you are using the avatar of chandu ? "TO.......TU......CHANDU HAYE ??" LOL. You know this was the first sentence that came to my mind when I first visited this site. You are so nice, & so helpful I have learned a lot from chandu.org & now in my office every one give me a hats off for so far I can do with excel,(I know what a little I know,but unfortunately better than them) So, thanks again Boss. Yes you are right, LCL is Loose container loaded, the charges for LCL are different & based on weight or ctns number, so I will treat it differently, It will not be included in this formula.

I have suggested as OP was messed up with that post & want lot's of changes in initial post. So, i assume that i would nice to start a new thread irrespective of hazy one & later hidden down that one.

From every forum on different continents I used,
it's a very bad habit to not start a thread with "Hello" or even "Hi" !

In the same way with a title with words like "Help", "I need", "Urgent", …
It's like in front of a fish shop : "Here we sell fresh fish" ! No sense …

I know forums where this kind of threads are blocked
until title / initial post are amended in a right way !

So many people who face that kind of threads skip to next one …
