Scatterplot + Heatmap chart

Hi everyone,

I've got a charting challenge I haven't been able to figure out and I'm wondering if anybody here has some ideas or if they've done something similar that they could share.

I'm doing basketball analysis and what I want to do is make a heat map using a chart of each player's shots. I have X- and Y- coordinates for each shot.

I'm aware of the conditional formatting heatmap, but I don't think it quite helps me achieve my objective. I guess what I'm trying to do first and foremost is a scatterplot that also shows density.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or input. Thanks.

Thanks, Hui.

The trouble I'm having kind of relates to the basketball court (sorry for not mentioning that in my original post).

The court is mapped in a grid 1128 x 600, where each unit represents one inch. My understanding is that the only way the density part would display would be is if shots are made from the same grid coordinates, which seems unlikely given the large grid.

Having said that, the attachment with the averages gives me an option I previously wasn't aware of.

Maybe the "heat" would display more consistent with my vision if I converted the basketball court from inches to feet, or increments of 2 feet.

Thanks for the insight and tip, Hui. I'll give this a go and see if I can make it work.

Here's the file, sorry Hui, I missed that request. There are still some errors in it. In the Shooting table, you'll see the FGM, 3FGA, and A1 had some Boolean issues the programmers were working out, but everything else has been validated.

I don't think you have enough data to plot inches and the number of calculations are huge as well slowing the fastest pc's to a crawl
