Hi Team,

I want to restrict an excel file to open only in Microsoft excel not in any other application such as open office, lotus notes, etc...

Is there any vba code to do this....

Please help me with this problem.

Thanks,
Kavitha M

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

One of the issues with using VBA is that if the application doesn't fully support VBA it won't or may not be executed

I'm not aware of any other way to do what you want

Hi,

As Hui said the vba or macro will only run after the file is opened, hence you will not be able to do it with vba

Could you let us know the reason for this requirement so that we may try to suggest any other options.
