Recover data source from Pivot Table

I had a database from which I have created Pivot Table in existing workbook1 and that pivot table I have moved to another WorkBook2. After that I wrongly deleted file / contents of database file. While showing pivot table (workbook2), data source file is not exist but I can show all the data through Pivot Table.

My question is how to recover my database, I think while using pivot table (workbook2) somewhere temp file of workbook 1 is generating. but how to recover that???

Firstly, welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums

Select a cell in the Pivot Table

Goto the Pivot Table Tools, Change Data Source Tab

Relink to workbook2

Sir, Thanks for welcome.

There is some confusion.

I had a database (Workbook 1, sheet 1) from which I have created Pivot Table (Workbook1, sheet2) and after that I have moved pivot table (sheet 2) to another WorkBook 2 and saved to disc. Afterwards I wrongly deleted file (Workbook1). On opening Workbook 2, pivot table is showing with full feature to add another fields but data source file is not exist on the disc and cannot refresh the same.

My question is if I can add/remove another fields in pivot means database is somewhere and I need that database.

Hope this would understand you much clear.... please help out me. ofcourse, thanks in advance.

Hi Vijubansal.....just double click on the Grand total (the end of pivot) and your data should be visible in new sheet...
