Production Scheduling Help

Shaminder Singh

New Member
We use two different programs to run our production floor. One program gives me what our daily demand is and other program gives me what we are currently running. I am trying to put this info into one spread sheet so I can understand what I need to schedule next. We have several press and each press run may different part numbers. How do I get a schedule in excel that tells me remining demand qty for any given day? Some of my jobs do cover more than one days demand.

Please see attached file for an example.

Thanks,
Shaminder

Hi Shaminder,

Please elaborate a process little bit. What is your desired output can you show one example manually. I have understood following points"

1. There are multiple presses (101 to 104)
2. Each of them have a different Job Number (5254 in Case of Press 101)
3. In Job 5254, There are 92 pcs to be manufactured.
4. RUN describes job as currently in production
5. Then Start Time & Date & End Time & Date.

Hi Faseeh,

There are four press. 101, 102, 103, 104. Each press can run few different part numbers only. In our customer demand report, demand is listed per part for each press.

I schedule few days worth of demand per press for a part then I schedule different part on press.

For Example: Press 101 might have Product A for 10ea/day(50/week) and Product B for 15ea/day(75/week).

I will schedule a job for product A for 30ea then schedule Product B for 50ea. When I run a new report, I will see that I need 50ea of Product A and 75ea of Product B. I need excel to tell me that I have already scheduled 30ea of Product A and 50ea of Product B.

Excel should recongnize that I have 3 days worth of production already scheduled. I need to be worried about 4th day.

Job number are meaning less. Please ignore. I am only concerned about demand qty and schedule qty.

Thanks a lot,
Shaminder

Hi Shaminder,

I think what we are missing is the production capacity of each press? Am i wrong? Things must have been simpler once we had such thing...
