Pop up page in PDF based on unique cell value in wsheet. No change even wsheet frequently updated.

i am using excel 2007. In sheet1 cell A11 i am entering unique value 'xyz123'. I have external PDF file (say abc.pdf) in the same folder whether this excel worksheet is stored. That PDF file has more than 200 pages. One of the page include 'xyz123' (page keep reshuffling in that PDF file so it is not certain to locate page with page # reference pl. note.) Now if i click on cell A11, Page from abc.PDF must pop up (containing 'xyz123' word in it).

Now after some sorting , additing, deleting etc. that A11 cell has now become A7. So even if i click on A7 now, the said old reference page in abc.pdf must pop up. (containing 'xyz123' word)

how this can be achived through vba & hyperlink (without using ActiveX control)

The format for linking to a page in a pdf is as follows

=Hyperlink("C:\Mydirectory\MyPDF File.pdf#page=10")

Thanks for your reply & guidance. Actually i have more than 500 rows in the sheet and i want to simply wirte down unique word in one of the columns that is all. Other things to be done through vba only. i don't want to keep adding hyperlink formula in each & every cell. eg. A11 cell i will simply write 'xyz123' word (no formula bar i have to enter =Hyperlink... as suggested by you). when my cursor move to A11, automatic pop-up of a page from abc.pdf be activated where the matching word 'xyz123' is appearing in that page.

I will be highly obliged if i get the solution to this asap. I need vba code & rollover cell activation code and search of that word in pdf and opening (pop up) of that particular page / pdf file.

You cant use a Hyperlink to search for a string in a pdf

You can combine cells to make the directory, file name and page if that is what you require.
