I want to get data in the above format using the PIVOT?


Currently I have a huge data in the below format. Nearly 50 EmpIDs for 30 days (dates)

Emp ID Date Total specialtasks

499003 11-Jan-12 166.1 8

499003 12-Jan-12 155.7 9

210009 11-Jan-12 170.2 9

210009 12-Jan-12 178.1 7

Firstly, Welcome to the Chandoo.org Forums


Select the data area including headings

Setup a Pivot Table

Drag the Emp ID to the Rows Labels

Drag the Date to the Columns Labels

Drag the Totals to the Sum Value Area

Make sure that the Special Tasks field is on Sum not Count


If you want to also see the Special Tasks as a sub set of the Emp Id drag the Special Tasks to the inside of the Row Labels
