Pivot Table-Help

I have a worksheet w/data that is used in a Pivot Table. The data contains cells such as:

A B

1 Area Unit #

2 UP 12

3 UP 12SL1

4 UP 12SL2

When I sort by "Area", the Unit #'s w/SL1 or 2 get sorted at the bottom of the columns. How can I format the unit # so Excel sorts them sequentilly. Hope I'm making sense. 3am!

Hi bfraser,

I would create a formula helper column beside the raw data that you can use in your pivot for sorting. You may need to concatenate values to get the required sort key.

Also, if the helper column is to the right of your data, you may need to extend the pivot's data range one columnn to the right (or you can insert a column in the middle and once you refresh the pivot this new field will be included).

Cheers,

Kevin
