Pivot table Custom Sort

Portucale

Member
Hi,

I believe I have exhausted all the options that I know off to custom sort a pivot table, and for some reason I can't sort it, so I am asking for help.
I have a PT which I need to custom sort by field 'StateOrig' the custom sort list is:
In Sign Off
Work in Progress
Approved
Pending
Open
Hold
Closed Complete
Closed Imcomplete
Closed Skipped
File enclosed

Any help and All the help is very much appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Hi ,

I have no idea what you want. Is this OK ?

Narayan
Yes, I need the Pivot Table to be custom sort by that field, but I do have more fields within the Labels, so when I add them the custom sort goes... sorry if I didn't explain correctly.

Let's say I have label's "Number; StateOrig and COE" and need to custom sort by Label 'StatOrig' by the list above mentioned.

Thanks again

Hi ,

I am still not clear on what you want , because you seem still dissatisfied with the result !

Compared to your original upload file , I have done two things :

1. Added the custom sort list. Your original file did not have one.

2. In order to sort the pivot table field , I think it should be the first field , i.e. the left-most field. So before the sort , move the field to the beginning , and then sort using the custom sort list.

If this is not what you want , please explain with an example.

I really appreciate your patient and help, Thank you so much, when I created the sample forgot to add the custom lists :'(,

I have now managed to sort the PT following your explanation, I've created a label at the left (1st column) of the PT :)

Thanks you again, invaluable help.
