Overlapping data points in a scatterplot

Hi, fellows

I work a lot with scatterplots charting around 30 data points and their respective labels. I always have a problem with overlapping, which makes me lose a lot of time moving everyone manually. I'd like to know if you can come up with a solution more efficient.

Thanks ;)

Hi ,

In a scatter chart , there is no guarantee that several points will not overlap , and coding an overlap adjustment strategy which will work in all cases is , in my opinion , impossible ; adjusting a label far enough from a point so that it does not overlap with other labels can put it so far away that it becomes difficult to correlate the data point with the data label.

The other option is that where there is 100% overlap , insert only one data label , and eliminate the other data labels at that point.

You would do better to have one textbox display the data label of the point you click on.
