Hello EXPERT,

My question is also here in the attached file http://www.upf.co.il/file/980580841.html

For each person I would like to check if he is director or Chairman as mentioned in column E and F, and also if his duty period included in each end year.
I also find that sometimes the same person has 2 duties (2 lines), also as a "chairman" or a director, while for me it is the same duty as director.
I calculated the formula and do not understand my mistake

Can you please help me

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!

Thanks, it really helps me.
I found that sometimes the word "chair" or "director" are not alone in the cell but part of a sentence. How can I add the function FIND in order to recognize these words?

Thanks again

Hi Narayan,

You can shorten your solution, and without CSE,

=SUMPRODUCT(--ISNUMBER(SEARCH({"Chair","Director"},$E3:$F3))*(G3=1))

Hi David ,

The formula , as given in the file I uploaded , also does not require to be entered using CTRL SHIFT ENTER.

I am not really concerned with shortening formulae , unless the shortening achieves any significant benefit. I am always interested in knowing about alternative ways of achieving the same result , but I am not interested in remembering all such alternative ways ; I remember one way and use it every time , unless I need to look for a better alternative.

Hello to you,
the forum help me a lot in the file I attached, and now I found that I have in my list director that are in firm since start date and there is no end date. The empty "end date" does not take them in account. Can you please help me to change it?

Thanks a lot
